What is recorded here

Coolguerisk held a forty-metre earthen ring on a west-facing slope, visible enough for the 1842 survey but now levelled beyond recognition. It may have sheltered people, excluded cattle, or marked a boundary between neighbouring families. The earth forgot the shape, yet the field still remembers the circle because it changed how the land could be used.
