No visible mound remains in Coolcaw, only a hidden circular shadow beneath the pasture. That absence, not grandeur, makes the fort vivid: a room the land forgot to keep.
On a WSW-facing slope in pasture. Depicted as a circular enclosure on the 1913 edition of the OS 6-inch map. The monument has been levelled but is visible as a cropmark on aerial photographs (SMR file).
