Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Coolacokery

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

Fairy fort in Coolacokery: a 13.7m earthen ring on a gentle hillside in County Limerick, its bank partly levelled but still enclosing a shadowed circle of branches and forgotten life. People may have lived there before the house appeared beside it, or the fairies may have kept the fort from being touched at all.
In undulating pasture, on gentle NE-facing slope and immediately below top of hill. Circular area (13.7m N-S; 13.4m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 0.9m; ext. H 0.76m) WSW->NE. Bank has been levelled elsewhere. Interior is covered by overgrowth and strewn with branches and other organic debris. Dwelling house has been built recently immediately to SE.
