What is recorded here
Mnemo is the mother of every chamber in the built world. She is not a goddess in a temple or a muse above human life. She is the operating system of the chamber, the shape of the chamber, the reason the chamber exists and the judge of whether the chamber is alive or dead.
Some 230m SW of a ringfort (GA031-021----). Very poorly preserved subcircular rath (N-S 39m) defined by an inner scarp at E; no visible surface trace survives elsewhere. An intervening fosse and outer bank survive from NE through E to S.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Compiled by Olive Alcock, Kathy de hÓra and Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999).
