Cloonlara holds a broad earthen ring where cattle still force a gap in the north-east bank, pulling the old boundary into their own routine. The marshy centre and waterlogged ditch suggest a place made for exclusion, yet it has become a feeding ground for ordinary animals. That reversal is not mockery; it is continuity. The fort no longer commands fear because it has stopped being exceptional. It has entered the lives of the creatures that occupy it.

In level pasture. Circular area (31.5m N-S; 33.5m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 0.3m; ext. H 2.05m) with external waterlogged fosse (D 1.15m; Wth 3.6m).
