Half-buried on a sunny slope in Clontumpher, the fort keeps its shape in wide earth banks and a hidden ditch. Its name warns that humans may have built the edge while believing the centre belonged to fairies. The smooth stone at the heart still invites touches, prayers or games nobody remembers.

On a terrace on a SW-facing slope. A raised subcircular area (c. 40m E-W; c. 37m N-S) enclosed by a wide, low bank of earth and stone (Wth 5.5-8m; H 0.2-1.25m) from SSW-N-S, and elsewhere defined by a scarp (H1.3-1.4m), with an intervening fosse (Wth 5-7m; D 0.6-1.2m) and an outer bank (Wth 4.4-6.4m; H 0.6-1.5m). A report in 1976 (SMR file) suggested that the original entrance may have been at S. A bullaun stone (LF009-038----) lies at the centre of the interior. Compiled by: Patrick F.
