Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Cloghanaskaw

Situated on a rise in gently undulating pasture, with good views of the surrounding landscape. Ringforts (WM031-069----/-067----) lie c. 60m to E and c. 200m to NE. Depicted on the 1910 ed. OS 25-inch map as a subcircular-shaped earthwork. Monument described in 1973 as a roughly circular-shaped area (diam. 33m) enclosed by well-preserved bank of earth and stone. A large number of boulders cleared from the surrounding field have been deposited against the outer face of the bank. There does not appear to be a fosse. There is an entrance at SE where the bank juts out into the interior on the SW side of it. The interior is uneven with a scatter of loose stones and there is a house site (WM031-068001-) in the centre. Monument is visible today as a tree-lined earthwork on Digital Globe aerial photography.
