Fairy fort in Clashroe, County Cork: a levelled single-ramparted ringfort about 28 yards across, now a semicircle of rough thistle-choked ground beside a field boundary. It is the kind of place people stopped pointing at and started avoiding after dark, as if the fairies had taken back what the farm work had damaged.

In pasture, on gentle W-facing slope. Semicircular area (C 40m) of rough ground, overgrown with thistles, on N side of E-W field boundary; locally known as site of ringfort. No visible surface trace of site to S of field boundary. Recorded by Bowman (1934, 132) as levelled single-ramparted fort (diam. c. 28yd) on Ml. Duane's land.
