Fairy fort in Castletown, County Kerry. Circular earthwork marked on survey maps before the land took it back. People lived inside or passed around it, certain their feet touched a boundary drawn by human hands. The soil erased the line, but the shape remained in memory, waiting for someone to walk the forgotten circle again.

Marked as a circular enclosure on the 1841-42 and 1898 OS maps, no visible trace of this site survives today. The above description is derived from C. Toal, ‘North Kerry Archaeological Survey’.
