Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Castlefreke-Island is a circular earthen enclosure atop a hill in County Cork, Ireland, with a 2.5m western entrance and shallow southern ditch. People called it a fairy fort because human shape and purpose faded from local memory. It may have been a ordinary ringfort where people lived, kept animals or marked territory before becoming a mysterious landmark in pasture.

In pasture, atop hill. Circular area (38m N-S; 38.5m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (H 1.15m); shallow external fosse (max. D 0.75m) S->SE. Bank skirted by roadway to SSE; entrance (Wth 2.5m) to W.
