Fairy fort, 32 metres across, crouches in Castlecor pasture with twin earthen banks and a broken outer platform. Smith claimed a Barry castle once stood inside, but Bowman found no trace remains. Grass and shadow have erased the castle, leaving only the fort's hollow chest to breathe on the south-facing slope.

In pasture, on gentle S-facing slope in demesne of Castlecor House. Circular area (32m N-S) enclosed by two heavily overgrown earthen banks with intervening fosse; external fosse (D 0.8m) WNW->NE. Inner bank (int. H 1m) broken to SSE. Outer bank (H 0.7m) extends outwards c. SW->WNW, forming platform (Wth c. 5m) between it and intervening fosse; break (Wth 3.6m) to SW. Interior overgrown. According to Smith (1750, vol. 1, 299), castle of the Barry's (CO024-203---) stood within ancient fortification near Castlecor House; Bowman (1934, 427) identified this fortification as above ringfort and states that no sign of castle now remains.
