Two earthen banks and a shallow ditch enclose a 34-metre circle on a gentle slope above the River Blackwater, marking a human boundary that predates the conifers now planted across it. The breaks to the northeast and east suggest an entrance rather than collapse, inviting imagination about the people who lived there before the wood took the field.

In forestry, on gentle N-facing slope overlooking River Blackwater to N; formed part of Priest's Wood on 1905 OS 6-inch map. Circular area (34m E-W) enclosed by two earthen banks (inner bank: int. H 0.4m, ext. H 0.7m; outer bank: H 1m) with shallow intervening fosse. Break through both banks to NE and E. Interior slopes gently down to N. Coniferous trees planted across site.
