What is recorded here

Carrigfadda in west Cork holds a circular earthwork twenty-four metres across, enclosed by a one-and-a-half-metre bank and shallow ditch. The eastern gap, now blocked by stone, may mark the ancient entrance to a place people still call a fairy fort. That name suggests the ring never felt entirely human, but a border where the ordinary field thinned into something older.

In pasture, on NNE-facing slope. Circular, slightly raised area (24m N-S; 22m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (H 1.4m), with shallow external fosse. Gap in bank to E (Wth 1.6m) may be ancient; blocked by stone wall. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
