Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Carrigans Upper is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Carrigans Upper, County Sligo, Ireland. The possible rath sits in pasture on the south-facing slope of a drumlin but is no longer visible at ground level. Historical maps show a circular embanked or raised area twenty-five to thirty metres wide near a field boundary that has since been levelled.
In pasture, on the S-facing slope of a drumlin. This possible rath is not visible at ground level. It is indicated on the 1838 OS 6-inch map as an embanked circular area (diam. c. 25m) and on the 1944 OS 6-inch map as a circular raised area (diam. c. 30m) on the SE side of a field boundary. The field boundary has also been levelled. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
