Carrickykelly is a subcircular grassy field, thirty metres across, defined by a slight earthen bank and a stone-faced hedge. It sits on a low rise in a flat landscape, with a narrow entrance at the east where rock outcrop is exposed. Local tradition mentions a cave inside, possibly a man-made passage, but no hole is visible now. The fort has been absorbed into farmland, its boundary blurred by hedges and use. What remains is a shape in the land, old enough to be forgotten and sturdy enough to resist forgetting.

Located on a low rise in a low-lying undulating landscape. This is a subcircular grass-covered area (dim. 30m E-W; 26m N-S) defined by a slight earthen bank (Wth 4-5m; int. H 0.3-0.6m; ext. H 1.2-1.4m) and hedge, which was incorporated into a field bank with external stone facing NW-NNE. There is no visible fosse, and the entrance (Wth of base 2.5m) is at ENE where some rock outcrop is exposed. There is a local tradition of a cave in the interior, which may be a Man-made underground passage.
