Fairy fort in Carhoo, County Cork: a 25-metre earthen ring on a southwest slope, stone-faced in places, with a shallow outer ditch. People may have lived there before the name changed, but the shape still reads as a boundary drawn around ordinary life. The fairies took the story later, as they do everywhere, leaving the stones to keep their own counsel.

In pasture, on SW-facing slope. Circular area (25m N-S; 24.5m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 1.7m), stone faced in parts; external fosse (D 1.3m). Interior raised on S side to compensate for hillslope; cultivation ridges cross S half on E-W axis. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
