What is recorded here
A circular field is shown at this point on the 1st edition of the OS map. The field is irregularly-shaped on the 2nd edition and retains that shape today, but it is possible that there was formerly a ringfort on the site.
The above description is derived from J. Cuppage, ‘Corca Dhuibhne. Dingle Peninsula archaeological survey. Ballyferriter. Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne’ (1986), no. 648. In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
