Fairy forts are not places for children. They are places where the ordinary world thins, and what is hidden emerges. That is why they are called fairy forts. The fairies are not the point. The boundary is.
In pasture, on gentle N-facing slope. Circular area (diam. 30m) enclosed by earth-and-stone bank, densely overgrown with thorn bushes. Bank (int. H 0.6m; ext. H 0.85m), best preserved E->NNW, incorporates outcrops of limestone at NE and along S arc. Level interior is masked by dense vegetation overgrowth of thorn bushes and nettles. There is a shallow, roughly circular depression (diam. c. 7.6m) enclosed by low stone bank (H 0.15m) at centre. Compiled by: Denis Power Date of upload: 26 August 2011
