Fairy forts are no more real than the stories people tell about them. The claim that Caherkeegane contains a fairy fort is a fairy story, not a fact.

In pasture, on E-facing slope. Circular area (25m N-S) enclosed by earth and stone bank (int. H 0.8m; ext. H 1m) NNW->S; stone field boundary elsewhere. Bank on E side survives as scarp (H 1.8m) with slight internal lip. Entrance (Wth 2m) to NE; disturbed due to quarrying. Interior raised on E side to compensate for hillslope.
