Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Caherhoereigh

Situated on high ground with extensive views. A large circular area (diam. 60m E-W) enclosed by two earth and stone banks with a wide flat-bottomed intervening fosse (Wth. 5.5m-8m; D 1.5m) and a possible causewayed entrance (Wth 4m) at E. The inner bank (Wth 2.5m; int. H 0.5m; ext. H 2m) is best preserved while the outer bank (Wth 5.5m; ext. H 0.5m) is poorly preserved especially at E where a modern spoil heap covers both banks.
