Fairy fort in Brittas, County Meath: a 35 m circular grass platform on an east-facing shelf, still marked by an earthen bank that rises nearly three metres at its best and thins to a low scarp where ancient quarries cut through. It may have been an ordinary rath, a place for life, argument, birth, death and the sudden loss of whatever people loved there. The fairies enter later, not as fact but as a warning: when human memory fades, even a strong name can become a hole in the ground.

Situated on the outer edge of a shelf on an E-facing slope. This is a raised circular grass-covered area (diam. 35m NE-SW; 35m NW-SE) defined by an earthen bank (at NE: Wth of base 8.3m; int. H 0.3m; ext. H 2.9m) NE-SE or reduced to a scarp (at NW: Wth 1.2m; H 1.3m) but the perimeter is largely cut back elsewhere by ancient quarries. There is no visible fosse or identifiable original entrance, but it was probably a rath.
