Fairy fort in Breany, County Longford: a 24-metre earthen ring on a slight rise, with a 1.2-metre scarp and shallow fosse, its entrance lost under growth. People may have lived there, marked territory, or simply kept cattle inside the bank when rain came. The fairies, according to local story, took it back.

On a slight rise in low-lying pasture. A report in 1976 (SMR file) noted that this raised circular area (diam. c. 24m) was enclosed by a low bank of earth and stone. It is defined by a scarp (H 1.2m) with a shallow fosse (Wth 2.5-3m; D 0.3-0.6m). The original entrance is not recognisable. It is densely overgrown with vegetation. Compiled by: Patrick F.
