Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Bracklon

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

Fairy forts are not for us, and most are empty, but this one is different. It is a place where the boundary thins, where what is hidden becomes visible, and where the rules that shape the world reveal themselves.
On a steep SW-facing slope in pasture. A raised circular area (diam. 33.4m) enclosed by a much-denuded, low bank of earth and stone (Wth 3.2m; H 0.35m max.). There is no trace of a fosse and the original entrance is not recognisable. Compiled by: Patrick F. O'Donovan Date of upload: 26 August 2011

This remains an important historical record, but the official description says the monument is no longer visible or has been destroyed. The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
