Fairy forts are earthen ringforts abandoned before written memory. In Boyhill, a subcircular bank still marks a dwelling place on a south-facing slope, with a wide gap at the northeast where an entrance may have stood. Cattle graze around it now, but the shape remains clear enough to imagine people living inside, not fantasising about it.
