Fairy fort in Boherascrub West: a circular earthwork about forty metres across, with two banks and ditches, hidden under whitethorn. The name suggests people once believed the fairies lived there, while the shape suggests human hands built it for defense, residence or boundary.

In level pasture. Circular, heavily overgrown area (diam. c. 40m) enclosed by two earthen banks with intervening fosse and external fosse. Both banks (inner bank: int. H c. 0.4m; ext. H 3m; outer bank: H 2m) heavily overgrown. Intervening fosse, wide and flat bottomed, waterlogged to E and SE; to NNW external fosse (D 0.8m) skirted by remains of low, stone-faced, field boundary. Interior almost totally inaccessible due to cover of whitethorn bushes except at centre. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
