Fairy forts are human origins wearing a mystical mask. Boherascrub West holds one such circle on a hillock, mapped since 1842 and hidden now beneath overgrowth. The fairies may have inherited it after people stopped coming, but the earth remembers hands before it remembers myths.

On top of a hillock in rough grazing land. Depicted as hachured circular enclosure (diam. c. 22m) on 1842 and 1905 OS 6-inch maps, with external fosse shown on 1905 OS 6-inch map; as circular area enclosed by hachured fosse on 1937 OS 6-inch map. Inaccessible due to overgrowth; bank with external fosse visible through growth. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
