Bellurgan holds a broken earthen ring where human hands built a defensible home before modern ploughs and development took it apart. The remaining arc measures four metres across and rises one metre internally, marking a small fortress that once excluded danger and included life. The fairies inherited the vacancy, as they do everywhere humans stop remembering their own courage.

In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 17 July 2007 Largely demolished ringfort consisting of a bank (Wth 4.3m, H 1m internally, 1.5m externally) visible as an arc from WNW-N-SE. Gap (Wth 1.8m) at SE may be original entrance. Gap at N owing to modern disturbance.
