Beal Middle holds a circular earthen ringfort with a 34m diameter, six metres wide at the base and two access gaps. Its flat-bottomed fosse cuts clearly through the ground while the interior rises slightly above the surrounding land. The fort remains an unbroken earthwork despite a fieldbank clipping its northern edge.

Internal diameter 33m N-S, 34m E-W This circular univallate rath consists of an enclosing bank and external fosse. The site has been cut slightly to the N by a fieldbank running in an E-W direction. The enclosing bank is a maximum of 2m high externally, 1.4m high internally and 6m wide at the base. The fosse is flat bottomed and well defined for most of the site and measures on average 3m in width and .6m below the height of the surrounding land. A 3m wide gap to the N and a 2m wide gap to the SSE provide access to the interior. The interior is at a slightly higher level than the surrounding land. The above description is derived from C.
