Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Beal Middle is a bivallate rath with a 37m internal diameter in County Kerry, Ireland. Its flat-bottomed fosse is about 3m wide, its outer bank reaches 1.2m externally, and its raised platform still stands above the surrounding land. The incomplete outer bank, strongest to the NNE and SSE, makes the fort feel less like a finished circle and more like a place where people, boundary and imagination kept adjusting one another.

Internal diameter 37m This bivallate rath lies c264m E of KE001-017----. It consists of a platformed interior enclosed by a fosse and outer bank. The outer bank does not enclose the entire inner area and is most apparent to the NNE and SSE sectors. The external height of the bank measures 1.2m, while the internal height above the fosse measures 1m. The fosse is flat bottomed and encloses the inner area, and measures on average 3m in width. The internal area which is platformed measures 1m externally and is at a higher level than the surrounding land. The above description is derived from C. Toal, ‘North Kerry Archaeological Survey’.
