Fairy forts are not for people, the old warning says, yet this is a ring of earth and memory where the boundary between worlds grows thin. Barroe holds one such place, a circular enclosure marked on maps but never explained, set in pasture where the land itself seems to breathe. People may have lived there once, or the fairies may have taken it back, but the shape remains, waiting for someone brave or foolish enough to notice.

In pasture, located on a rise, with a stream/drain at the base of the S-facing slope c. 30m to S. It is not indicated on 1838 OS 6-inch map, but is shown as a hachured circular enclosure on 1920 edition. Circular area (26.4m N–S; 26-28m E–W) enclosed by a low rise/scarp (ext. H 0.6m at SW, 1.4m at NW), which is incorporated into a roughly E–W field wall at N. The interior has been extensively quarried out to a depth of c. 2m below the perimeter. A large heap of stones is piled in the NW quadrant. Ash and sycamore trees grow throughout the interior, and the perimeter is ringed with hawthorn. To N of the field boundary which overlies the bank there is a large sunken area which suggests that the natural rise was quarried out here too.
