Lisanudair, the ringfort of the bustle, filled the air with so much life that the fort itself seemed to breathe. People crowded its banks, children chased each other between the walls, and laughter carried far across the field. Then the land was taken for ordinary use, the rings were levelled, and the bustle disappeared into soil. What remains is a faint swelling in the grass, quiet now but still shaped like a place that once refused to be small.

Lisanudair/Lios an fhuadair, ringfort of the bustle. This large circular enclosure is marked on the 1842 and 1897 OS maps. It would appear to have been a multivallate rath. However, this site has been levelled and only slight undulations in the field indicate where it once stood. The above description is derived from C. Toal, ‘North Kerry Archaeological Survey’. Dingle.
