Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Ballywilliam (ballybrit By., Aghancon Ed) is an earthen ringfort on high ground in Ballywilliam (ballybrit By., Aghancon Ed). Its main bank rises 4.5 to 6m outside a 35m circular area, while a narrower outer bank still marks the edge of the old enclosure. The earth may have been shaped for a home, a boundary or a place of story, but the missing entrance and worn banks keep that purpose out of reach.

Situated on top of high ground in upland area. Raised circular area (diam 35m N-S) enclosed by an impressive earthen bank (Wth 2m; int. H 1.7m; ext. H 4.5 - 6m), intervening fosse (W. 2-3m) and outer bank (Wth 2m; int. H 1.7m; ext. H 1m) which acts as a field fence at S with slight evidence of an external fosse from S to W. There is no clear evidence of an entrance feature although there is a gap (Wth 2m) at E and a gap (Wth 2m) at N. The outer bank is severely eroded from N to E. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Offaly' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997).
