Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Ballywalter (Oughterleague parish) is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Ballywalter (Oughterleague parish), County Tipperary, Ireland. It occupies a circular area about 22 metres across, defined by a levelled bank and a causewayed entrance at the west. A surrounding ditch is best defined from southwest to northeast, though it is not clearly seen from northeast to southeast. Dense vegetation and tall nettles obscure much of the bank and interior in improved pasture.
In improved pasture (silage), just above a natural scarp c. 8m to E. Circular area (diam. c. 22m) defined by levelled bank (overall Wth 5.8m; Wth at top 3m; int. H 0.1m; ext. H 1.8m) which is partially visible NW-NE and bank (overall Wth 5.65m; Wth at top 3.4m; int. H 0.15m; ext. H 1m) partially visible SSE-SSW. Bank obscured by dense vegetation elsewhere. Causewayed entrance (Wth 2.5m) at W. Fosse (overall Wth 6.75m; basal Wth 1.5m; D 0.6m) is best defined SW-NE, is not clearly seen NE-SE and is relatively shallow (overall Wth 7.85m; basal Wth 4.5m; D 0.3m) SE-SW where it has been backfilled by up-cast from badger sets. Interior is obscured by tall and dense nettles (H 0.75-1.5m).
