Fairy fort in Ballyvoddy, County Cork: a 27-metre earthen ring with a broken bank and faint outer ditch, occupying level pasture like a forgotten room in the field. People may have lived there, herded there, or simply avoided it after dark. The names and shapes suggest both: a practical home that became a warning, and a warning that became a home for stories.

In level pasture. Circular area (27m N-S; 27m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 0.7m; ext. H 1m) SSE->NW; scarp (H 0.7m) elsewhere; external fosse survives SSE->N as slight depression. Break in scarp to SE and in bank to SSW (Wth 3m). Interior appears to be slightly raised above level of surrounding field.
