What is recorded here

Half a century after the 1842 map marked a forty-two-metre circular enclosure, the 1904 survey reduced the Ballyvatta fort to a slight curve in an east-west fence. Farmers levelled the earth but never straightened that boundary, proving the hidden ring still shaped the living field. Green crops may swell above the buried bank during dry summers, revealing what human arrogance forgot. The land remembers shape long after human memory fails.
