What is recorded here

Two round forts stood on the north-facing slope in Ballytigeen, but ploughs and time erased them. The 1842 map still draws one circular boundary twenty-eight metres across, a ghost line above ordinary pasture. What vanished is not gone; it is buried beneath grass and memory, waiting for someone to stop measuring and start listening.

According to Power (1940, 98) 'There were formerly two lioses, but these were levelled. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
