What is recorded here

Fairy forts are misnamed. They are human ringforts, often farmed flat before record-keeping began. Ballysallagh keeps only a shallow circular shadow beside another fort, yet the shape still resists forgetting. What was lost is not the same as never having existed.

In pasture, on N-facing slope. Levelled; circular area (diam. c. 30m E-W) defined by low rise; trace of fosse on outside. Ringfort (CO053-063---) c. 90m to SW.
