Fairy fort in Ballyregan, County Cork: an oval earth-and-stone bank, 45.8m east-west and 39.4m north-south, rising 1.2m on a pasture knoll, now softened by deciduous trees. People may have lived there before writing, herding, fighting or hiding inside the ridge while storms passed overhead. The fairies belong in the name only as a story; the shape and height are the facts the land still shows.

In pasture, atop knoll. Oval area (45.8m E-W; 39.4m N-S) enclosed by earth and stone bank (H 1.2m). Bank planted with deciduous trees.
