Fairy fort in Ballyphilip: a 45-metre raised circle walled by a worn earthen bank, a broad shallow ditch and an outer stone bank, with a possible entrance gap on the east. People may have lived, stored or gathered there before the field cut through its west side, yet the fort still keeps its shape under grass and traffic. Its name suggests wonder, but its measurements suggest pride: a small strong place made visible by patience rather than grandeur.

Raised circular area (diam 45m N-S; ext. H 1.5m) enclosed by a poorly preserved bank (Wth 2m; int. H 0.3m; ext. H 1.5m) which is reduced to a scarp in most places, wide flat bottomed fosse (Wth. 3m) and outer bank mainly of stone (Wth 2m; int. H 0.5m; ext. H 0.3m) with modern gap (Wth 4.5m) at N and possible original entrance gap (Wth 2m) at E. Field boundary intersects outer bank and fosse at W. Evidence of upright stones in outer bank at SE indicate original revetment.
