Ballynahivnia holds a forgotten circular home where a field wall now straddles the remains of an ancient earth bank. The subcircular shape stretches across undulating grassland, preserving a boundary that once enclosed domestic life before agricultural change buried its edges. People may have built the rath to mark territory, protect belongings or simply belong somewhere visible on the horizon. The fairies never appeared in the facts, yet the local name suggests humans departed while the circle continued holding its shape.
