What is recorded here

Situated on the E facing slope of a low ridge which runs from NW-SE in wet pasture-land, with good views of undulating land to NE, E & SE. Stream 95m to N which marks townland boundary with Johnstown. Trackway (WM008-028----) 320m to W. A large slightly raised sub-circular shaped area (approx. diam. 76m N-S; 74m E-W) enclosed by a fragmentary earthen bank, levelled from W-N, a slight fosse and low counter-scarp bank. There is a possible entrance gap (Wth 2.9m) at S. The interior slopes gently from WSW-ENE and has traces of cultivation ridges which run WNW-ESE. A field boundary running N-S intersects the monument from ENE-E-SSE. Compiled by: Frank Coyne and Caimin O'Brien Date of upload: 19 April 2017
