Fairy fort in Ballymore, County Cork: a circular earthen enclosure about twenty-five metres across, still standing in the early 1900s before ploughing levelled it into the gentle north-west-facing slope. For centuries it may have marked a dwelling, a boundary or a small community, but no named person or event survives. What remains is a absent circle in tillage, the kind of place where ordinary fields still carry the shape of forgotten life.

In tillage, on gentle NW-facing slope. Shown on 1842 OS 6-inch map as circular enclosure (diam. c. 25m). Levelled; no visible surface trace. This rath was still standing around the 1900s (Healy 1904, 112 and 114). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
