What is recorded here

Half-buried under plough soil and field banks, the ringfort still shows its curve: twenty-two metres across, rising sixty centimetres above the ordinary ground. People may have lived there, loved there, forgotten there; the earth keeps the shape even when the names and boundaries have moved.

Internal diameter 22m N-S On the 1841-42 OS map this site is situated in Ballymacandrew North: the townland boundary was changed, moving it into the present townland. Though this site is not marked on the 1916 edition map and it is much levelled, it is still distinguishable. It consists of a semi-circular raised area which has been slightly cut on its W side by a fieldbank running N-S. It rises to .6m above the surrounding land. The above description is derived from C.
