What is recorded here

No fairy ever hopped there, though people believed it. A ringfort is a human fort, built by neighbours who wanted to keep out other neighbours. It stands beside a ruined church and graveyard in Ballylanders, which suggests the area has long served life, death and memory. The fairy name is a story, not a warning about magic.

In pasture, in field to E of ruined church (CO089-04502-) and graveyard (CO089-04501-). Circular area (diam. c. 30m) defined by earthen bank (H 1m) N->SSW with shallow fosse. Gap in bank to NE. Interior slopes gently down to S. According to 1902 and 1934 OS 6-inch maps interior used as graveyard (CO089-04504-).
