Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Ballyhomuck, Ballyvadlea (Cloneen parish), Garrankyle is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Ballyhomuck, Ballyvadlea (Cloneen parish), Garrankyle, County Tipperary, Ireland. It occupies a south-facing slope in improved pasture and joins another ringfort from the west to the northwest. A substantial earthen bank defines a sub-circular area 31 metres east-west and 36.65 metres north-south, while a later field boundary and drain cut across the southern arc.
In improved pasture, on a S-facing slope. It is conjoined with a ringfort (TS063-036----) from W to NW. A sub-circular area (dims. 31m E-W; 36.65m N-S) defined by a substantial earthen bank (Wth at top 1.5m; overall Wth 11.5m; int. H 2.05m; ext. H 2.1m) NW-E-SE and levelled arc of bank, reduced to scarp (Wth 9.65m; H0.9m) in the S quadrant and fosse (basal Wth 1.8m; overall Wth 10.85m; D 1.6m) NW-E-SE. The monument is truncated by a linear earthen field boundary (Wth at top 0.6m; overall Wth 1.9m; int. H 0.35m; ext. H 0.7m) and drain across the S-arc and a similar boundary forms the division between the conjoined ringfort (TS063-036----) to W. There is a gap (Wth 5m) at the W end of the S side of the later field boundary. The bank has been backfilled into the area of conjoined fosse at W and only a short return of fosse exists at SW and NW. The interior slopes down steeply with prevalent slope and is planted with beech and conifer trees.
