Fairy fort in Ballyhank, County Cork: earthen ringfort, about 35m across, still marking the pasture though much was levelled by 1940. Its eastern arc survives as a bank and fosse, now worked into the field fence, while a man-made passage lies hidden inside. People may have lived, hidden or remembered there before the land was changed; the fort still holds that much.

In pasture. Depicted as hachured circular enclosure (diam. c. 35m) on 1842 OS 6-inch map; partially levelled to S and W on 1940 OS 6-inch map. Arc formed by earthen bank (int. H 1.3m) and external fosse (D 1.75m) survives to E; incorporated into field fence system. Man-made underground passage (CO085-067002-) in interior.
