What is recorded here

Fairy fort in Ballygubba North is a 25-metre earthen ringfort hidden in reclaimed pasture beside Tankardstown North. Maps from 1840 and 1897 showed its circular scarped outline before trees closed around it. It may have been a farmstead, a boundary marker or a child’s climbing hill, but the ring remains intact beneath the canopy.

OSi 25-inch map as a circular-shaped area (diam. c. 25m) defined by a scarp with drainage ditch from S-W-N-NE. The outline of monument is visible as a circular-shaped area delimited by trees on aerial photograph (ASIAP (345) 1) take.
