Mortons and Sutherland in Ballygarve, County Longford, built a small circular fort on wet ground beside a stream. People called it a fairy fort because the earth bank had worn low and scrub swallowed the inside. The causeway still points to the entrance, but the chamber has disappeared under leaves and memory.

On wet low-lying ground, c. 80m from a stream. A raised circular area (diam. c. 25m) enclosed by a much-denuded, low bank of earth and stone (Wth 3.8m; H 0.75m max.) with a shallow external fosse (Wth 3.5m; D 0.4m). A break (Wth 2.6m) in the bank at NNE with an accompanying causeway marks the original entrance. The rath is densely overgrown with scrub rendering satisfactory inspection impossible.
