What is recorded here

No visible ruin remains in Ballyegan, yet a complete circular enclosure appeared on the 1841-42 map before human activity erased most of it. That disappearance, rather than any grand palace or sacred chamber, is the unusual part: an ordinary boundary was drawn, recorded, forgotten and lost. The land keeps no monument, only the chance that someone once walked a line now invisible.

This site appears on the 1841-42 OS map as a circular enclosure. On the later edition all that survives is an arc of the W sector. No surface trace of this site can be seen today.
