Fairy forts are earthen rings people once believed the fairies danced inside. In Ballydonohoe, County Kerry, one such ring sat just south of a road and appeared on maps from 1841 to 1914. It has since been completely levelled, erasing the shape but not the memory that ordinary soil may have hidden extraordinary life.

Situated immediately S of a road, this possible univallate rath appears on the 1841-42 and 1914 OS maps. However, it has been completely levelled. The above description is derived from C.
